Equal Treatment and Territories for Tribal Ancestry

Restoring connections, reclaiming power in land.

About Us

Equal Treatment and Territories for Tribal Ancestry mission is to restore the rightful ownership of land, wood, and water to the Indigenous peoples of southeastern Massachusetts, advancing their economic strength and fostering intergenerational healing.

Indigenous tribes of eastern Massachusetts have been separated from their ancestral lands for centuries, creating barriers to cultural survival, economic stability, and self-determination.

Today, many hold little or no land, undermining cultural survival, economic stability, and tribal self-determination. Restoring access to land is not symbolic, it is essential to justice, resilience, and thriving Native communities.

We empower Indigenous communities across Massachusetts to reclaim and sustain access to their ancestral lands, wood, and waters.

We acquire and preserve Indigenous lands, partner with organizations to protect these lands, engage in forums to represent Indigenous interests, and advocate for conservation and cultural recognition at all levels.

We manage acquired land for long-term well-being, collaborating with tribal communities to support traditional land use and protect forests, waterways, and natural resources.

We support Indigenous-led businesses, workforce development, and investment opportunities, while creating spaces for cultural leadership, spiritual practices, and community building.

We envision a future where Indigenous peoples thrive in harmony with their ancestral lands, waters, and traditions.
